Ivy Lynn is a New York based freelance film journalist whose critical writing has appeared in respected outlets including Film Inquiry, PopOptique, and Sordid Cinema Rotten Tomatoes & Film Inquiry. Her passion for cinema was ignited early, when her family brought home an entire video store from their supermarket chain, leading to a lifelong engagement with film culture. Ivy is drawn to psychological horror and films centering on women’s cinema. Her writing skillfully melds genre analysis with cultural commentary, offering nuanced perspectives on identity and representation in film. Ivy’s film criticism ranges from festival coverage to in‑depth essays. She has served as a guest critic on Slam Radio's “Unger the Radar” . Her beginner’s guide to psychological horror was also recognized as a Culture Pick of the Week by Cureditor UK. Ivy was in the Programming department for the Bushwick Film Festival. A former student at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, Ivy continued her academic journey at The New School in New York before launching her career in cultural journalism and film writing in NYC.
